Group & Cub Scout Leader
About Me
I re-joined Scouting when my son joined the 12th and now I can’t escape. I have nearly 30 years of Scouting experience. I run the Cubs, assist with the other Sections and manage the Groups day to day running as Group Scout Leader along with a bit of gardening, a bit of general maintenance and a bit of whatever!

About Me
I joined Beavers in the initial intake as a 5 year old in 1986 and have never left this group. After achieving the Queen’s Scout Award, I became a leader and now have over 20 years Leadership experience. I restarted the Beavers colony after it had closed down to provide opportunities for younger children and love seeing them progress through the group. I also assist with the running of Scouts and am a member of the Troops committee. Away from scouting I am Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist at Alder Hey – but please don’t moan to me about your aches and pains.
JONO
Cub Scout Leader
About Me
I started my scouting journey in Beavers back in 1998 at the 16th Crosby and moved through the sections up to Scouts. Unfortunately, my group folded and I fell out the movement until I was captured by the magic of the 12th. I am now the Cubs Leader and love every part of my role, especially the variety of activities we get up to.

About Me
I joined the 12th Scout group in 1969 and have been wearing the best neckerchief around ever since as a cub, a scout, a venture scout, a scout leader and committee member. I presently help out with scouts as and when necessary and try to keep stores tidy and organised after summer camps in particular.

About Me
I joined Scouting when my sons started at the 12th in 2013. Initially it was just helping out every other week which soon turned into every week. I mainly assist with Beavers but do help when needed across the sections. I would never have thought years ago that I would be involved with Scouting as when I was younger, I was a Girl Guide as I didn’t know that Scouting could be for ‘girls’ too. My sons have since left but I continue to help in any way I can. All the Leaders are so friendly and I particularly enjoy the camps.

Cub Scout Leader
About Me
I joined the 12th as a Scout in 2016 and have loved every minute. I’ve had amazing opportunities, including the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea and a trip to Madagascar, alongside all the fun at the 12th. I’m now a leader, helping at Cubs, while studying Microbiology at university.

About Me
I have been involved with the 12th since I was 6. 17 years later I’m still here. I help with the Cubs on Thursdays with my Dad, Jono, Gill and the occasional young leader. If I had to say what my favourite part of volunteering with the 12th was it would probably be when the Cub or Scout either learns a new skill or when you can see that they are enjoying the meeting/activity. My second favourite thing is when they all go home! Volunteering at THE BEST group in the district gives you a sense of pride, So, I would definitely recommend giving up and hour or two of your week to help out. The camps are great fun too!

About Me
I currently support the Scout and Beaver sections, although my job means I’m away for periods of time. My twin boys are also in the group and have join the 12th family. The Group is a special part of my life, offering young people the chance to build skills and confidence, and adults the opportunity to get involved and form lifelong friendships.

About Me
I began my Scouting journey in 2013 as a Beaver. In 2017, I joined 12th Crosby, where I re-engaged with Scouting, formed lifelong friendships, and embraced incredible opportunities, including representing England and the 12th at Roverway 2024 alongside Scouts from across Europe. I now volunteer with the cubs section.
Every child has the right to an adventure. Life is about grabbing opportunities. The prizes don’t always go to the biggest, the best and the strongest – they go to those who persevere. These are simple life lessons that Scouting teaches.’
